The Seven Sacred Centers ~ (The Seven Chakras)

The Human Body Energy Centers
(Parts 1, 2 & 3)
Created by sacredcenters.com

A beautiful meditation tool for
awakening the seven sacred chakra wheels.

Take a
Free Chakra Test to see how open each
chakra is before and/or after your meditation.

The Next Step: (after obtaining test results)

Go to the
FOURS
page to learn which of the
elements you require to bring greater balance
to your chakras at this time.

The Seven Chakras and Their Associated Properties

1. The ROOT Chakra:

Location: bottom of the spine ~ Color: red ~ Musical Note: C ~ Main Issues: survival, physical needs ~ Glandular Connection: adrenals ~ Associated Body Parts: bones, skeletal structure, genitals ~ The base or root chakra, Muludhara, is related to security, survival and also to basic human potentiality. It is said the kundalini lies coiled here, ready to uncoil and bring man to his highest spiritual potential in the crown chakra. This center is located in the region between the genitals and the anus. Although no endocrine organ is placed here, it is said to relate to the inner adrenal glands, the adrenal medulla, responsible for the fight and flight response when survival is under threat. In this region is located a muscle that controls ejaculation in the sexual act. A parallel is drawn between the sperm cell and the ovum, where the genetic code lies coiled, and the legendary kundalini, ready to express itself as a fully developed human being.

2. The SACRAL Chakra:

Locations: lower abdomen, below navel ~ Color: orange ~ Musical Note: D ~ Main Issues: emotional balance, sexuality, creativity ~ Glandular Connections: ovaries, testes ~ Associated Body Parts: reproductive organs, bladder, kidneys, prostate ~ The sacral chakra, Swadhisthanna, is located in the groin, and is related to emotion, sexuality and creativity. This chakra is said to correspond to the testes or the ovaries, that produce the various sex hormones involved in the reproductive cycle, which can cause dramatic mood swings.

3. The SOLAR PLEXUS Chakra:

Location: base of sternum ~ Color: yellow ~ Musical Note: E ~ Main Issues: personal power, self will, stress ~ Glandular Connection: pancreas ~ Associated Body Parts: digestive system, liver, muscles ~ The solar plexus chakra, Manipura, is related to energy, assimilation and digestion, and is said to correspond to the roles played by the pancreas and the outer adrenal glands, the adrenal cortex. These play a valuable role in digestion, the conversion of food matter into energy for the body.

4. The HEART Chakra:

Location: center of chest ~ Color: Green (closed) & Pink (opened, color of compassion) ~ Musical Note: F ~ Main Issues: love, relationships, responsibility ~ Glandular Connection: thymus ~ Associated Body Parts: heart & chest, lungs, circulation ~ The heart chakra, Anahata, is related to love, equilibrium, and well-being. It is related to the thymus, located in the chest. This organ is part of the immune system, as well as being part of the endocrine system. It produces T cells responsible for fighting off disease, and is adversely affected by stress.

5. The THROAT Chakra:

Location: base of neck ~ Color: blue ~ Musical Note: G ~ Main Issues: communication, self-expression, diplomacy, connection with the whole ~ Glandular Connections: thyroid, parathyroid ~ Associated Body Parts: mouth, throat, ears ~The throat chakra, Vishuddha, is said to be related to communication and growth, growth being a form of expression. This chakra is paralleled to the thyroid, a gland that is also in the throat, and which produces thyroid hormone, responsible for growth and maturation.

6. The BROW Chakra:

Location: above & between eyebrows ~ Colors: indigo, violet ~ Musical Note: A ~ Main Issues: intuition, wisdom, forgiveness, compassion ~ Glandular Connection: pituitary ~ Associated Body Parts: eyes, base of skull ~The Ajna Chakra, or third eye, is linked to the pineal gland. Ajna is the chakra of time and awareness and of light. The pineal gland is a light sensitive gland, that produces the hormone melatonin, which regulates the instincts of going to sleep and awakening. It also produces trace amounts of the psychedelic chemical dimethyltryptamine. (Note: some argue that the pineal and pituitary glands should be exchanged in their relationship to the Crown and Brow chakras, based on the description in Arthur Avalon's book on kundalini called Serpent Power)

7. The CROWN Chakra:

Location: top of head ~ Color: violet, gold, white ~ Musical Note: B ~ Main Issues: spirituality, integration, self-realization ~ Glandular Connection: Pineal ~ Associated Body Parts: upper skull, cerebral cortex, skin ~ The highest crown chakra is said to be the chakra of consciousness, the master chakra that controls all the others. Its role would be very similar to that of the pituitary gland, which secretes hormones to control the rest of the endocrine system, and also connects to the central nervous system via the hypothalamus. The thalamus is thought to have a key role in the physical basis of consciousness.

Relaxation Through Meditation ~
Meditating for Life ~ My preference
would be to call meditation relaxation –
 conscious relaxation, chosen relaxation.
These are words that are more
universally understood, more
comfortable. Meditating is actually
easier than you might imagine. Most
of us have dabbled in meditation by
participating in conscious relaxation.
We start by paying attention to our
breathing. The result is, and I
guarantee this, peace, serenity,
calmness, eventually opening
yourself to new insights.

SACRED CENTERS.COM ~ The word chakra is Sanskrit for wheel or disk and signifies one of seven basic energy centers in the body. Each of these centers correlates to major nerve ganglia branching forth from the spinal column. In addition the chakras also correlate to levels of consciousness, archetypal elements, developmental stages of life, colors, sounds, body functions, and much, much more.

The 8th Chakra ~ The Seat of the Soul

The conflicts of a human's life are directly proportional to the distance at which energy of personality exists separately from the harmonic frequencies that emanates from the divine spark or soul.

The seat of the soul, the eighth chakra, holds the ancient knowledge of our soul contracts and ultimately, our life purpose.

The 8th Chakra is the energy center of divine love, of spiritual compassion and spiritual selflessness. The seat of the soul is the major core star of our energetic system, also holding the records of what our souls had agreed as specific lessons in our upcoming lifetimes and past lives.
